Sport Management students tour the Emirates stadium
In the final week of the summer term in June the students studying the sport marketing module (a compulsory modules on all our sport management programmes) were taken on a tour of the Emirates Stadium. The objective of the tour was to gain a better understanding of how some of the topics and concepts discussed in the marketing module are applied within a commercially successful sports organisation. The tour was kindly given by Samir Singh from Arsenal in the Community and he drew on his extensive knowledge (as both a supporter and employee) of the club to inform the students about a range of issues including the move from Highbury to the Emirates stadium. James Murray, Business Development Manager, also gave a presentation about his role at the club which provided the students with an insight into the role of marketing within the football industry. Both Samir and James participated in an engaging Q+A session with the students.
