Roundtable Debate – The Business of Inclusion in Football

Join us and a special panel of senior figures from professional football for an evening of discussion and debate on how football takes its next steps on its journey to be the game that is truly ‘for everyone’. The panel consists of senior executives from organisations who have taken the lead on inclusion in football and who will be vital in maintaining the momentum and taking football into the next era. The evening will take as its particular focus inclusion for people from the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGB&T) communities. The seminar aims to move the debate about inclusion on from anti-discrimination policies, practices and campaigns, as important as these have been in addressing homophobia and other forms of discrimination in football. In doing so the seminar will focus on the work that is being done, and still remains to be achieved, to ensure that football is a welcoming and inclusive sport and business for people from all our communities for all roles and at all levels.

Our panel for the evening is:

  • Bobby Barnes, Deputy Chief Executive, the Professional Footballers Association.
  • Mark Gonnella, Communications Director, Arsenal F.C.
  • Kelly Simmons, Director of National Game and Women’s Football, the Football Association.
  • Roisin Wood, Chief Executive, Kick it Out.

Chair: Dr Andy Harvey, Birkbeck, University of London. This is your chance to influence the debate at a senior level and ensure that your voice is heard on this important strategic objective for football.
