London Centre for Corporate Governance and Ethics

Established in 2008, the London Centre for Corporate Governance and Ethics aims to develop a deeper understanding of economic, political and socio-economic influences on the development of governance frameworks, at the global, national and sectoral levels. They are also interested in how those frameworks are interpreted and applied by organisations, along with the result. This holistic approach requires cooperation between academics from various disciplines.

The Institute for Historical Research Sport & Leisure History Seminar Series 2009

'The Sport and Leisure History seminar is held at 5:15 PM on Mondays fortnightly, in the Ecclesiastical History Room of the Institute of Historical Research in London. The purpose of this seminar group is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of leading edge research in the history of sport and leisure and its relationship with wider cultural, social and political issues, covering a vast selection of nations and periods, from antiquity to the present.

The convenors intend the seminar to become a hub for the study of sport and leisure history in London and the south-east, as well as to encourage further research in this area among academics working across a range of disciplines. If you have any relevant research that you would like to present at one of the seminars, please send an abstract for your planned paper, as well as a brief biography of yourself, to seminar secretary Dion Georgiou. If you would like to attend the seminars, please get in touch with Dion at the same address and he will add you to the seminar's mailing list.
