Phil Turbutt

Phil Turbutt returned to Birkbeck College having graduated with an MSc in Sport Management and Marketing in 2015. He joins the Sport Business Centre as a doctoral student.

Prior to his postgraduate studies, Phil pursued a career in branding and visual communications, working at integrated marketing agencies in Birmingham and Sydney before moving to London and setting up his own freelance creative consultancy. After graduating from Birkbeck with an award for academic excellence, he held teaching positions at the University of Winchester and UCFB Wembley, where he led the Football Business and Marketing programme. In 2018, he took up the role of Associate Lecturer in Sport Marketing at Birkbeck and continues to teach this subject across the institution’s range of sport management programmes.
